Watch: Yashasvi Jaiswal's Marvelous Innings As He Reaches 50 In 13 Balls

Rajasthan Royals (RR) explosive batter Yashasvi Jaiswal on Thursday produced an exhibition in power-hitting to script history, by becoming the fastest half-centurion in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Jaiswal achieved this feat in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. Jaiswal slammed the half-century in just 13 balls to script his incredible milestone to his name. KL Rahul (14), Pat Cummins (14), Yusuf Pathan (15) and Sunil Narine (15) are the other three players to have achieved the milestone.

The milestone was previously held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins who had scored a 50 in 14 balls. Yusuf Pathan was third on the list with a 50 in 15 balls.

Coming to the match, Jaiswal started the run chase for the RR with a flying start as he single-handedly slammed Nitish Rana for 26 runs in the first over of the innings.

Earlier in the match, Yuzvendra Chahal delivered a fine performance to bag four wickets, conceding just 25 runs in his 4 overs spell. Chahal and Trent Boult's blistering spells helped Rajasthan Royals (RR) restrict Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to 149/8 in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match here at Eden Gardens on Thursday.

IPL 2023: Dhoni, Jadeja, Pathirana Shine As CSK Beat DC By 27 Runs

Mahendra Singh Dhoni punished Khaleel Ahmed and then marshalled his bowling resources to perfection as Chennai Super Kings comprehensively beat Delhi Capitals by 27 runs to take a giant stride towards IPL play-off on Wednesday. The talismanic skipper's couple of monstrous sixes in his 9-ball-20 did help CSK get to 167 for 8, which was at least 20 runs above-par on a tacky Chepauk track. The total was just what Dhoni needed to marshall his bowlers as Delhi Capitals were never in hunt after their batting mainstays David Warner (0), Phil Salt (17) and Mitch Marsh (5) were out by the start of the fourth over.

In the end, DC managed only 140 for 8 and their struggles were real as not even 10 fours were hit in the entire innings. The DC batters managed only seven boundaries and four over-boundaries.

The win took CSK to 15 points and one win from two remaining games will certainly seal their place in the last four. As far as DC's campaign is concerned, it is almost curtains with 8 points from 11 games with seven defeats.

Before one points fingers at head coach Ricky Ponting and Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly, there would some of the talent scouts, who should be held accountable for presenting the team with options who are incapable of being x-factors even at the domestic level.

A former India player's son, who is one of the talent scouts, will have a lot of answering to do.

The Indian batters like Manish Pandey, Ripal Patel, Lalit Yadav or Aman Khan aren't good enough to ace easy chases on their own leave alone getting better of tough targets like this one on the day.

The two veterans Ravindra Jadeja (1/19 in 4 overs) and Moeen Ali (0/16 in 4 overs) tightened the noose around the DC batters in the middle overs when Pandey and Rillee Rossouw added 59 at less than run-a-ball.

Pandey, especially after running Marsh out could have done better but in his 16 seasons of IPL, he hasn't even won 10 games for all the franchises that he played.

Matheesha Pathirana (3/37 in 4 overs) nailed his yorker perfectly to send the former India player packing.

Earlier Capitals bowlers came to the fore, keeping the Super Kings batters on the leash on a sluggish pitch before Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja (21 off 16 balls) put pressure on DC bowlers at the back-end.

None of the CSK batters could go on and get a substantial score with Shivam Dube (25) being the highest score. There were 20s by Ruturaj Gaikwad (24), Ambati Rayudu (23) and Ajinkya Rahane (21).

Electing to bat after skipper Dhoni won the toss, the home team was pegged back by some fine bowling by the Capitals bowlers, especially left-arm spinner Axar Patel (2/27). Mitchell Marsh (3/18 ) was the best bowler while Kuldeep Yadav (1/28) and Lalit Yadav (1/34) were the other wicket-takers.

The big-hitting Dube smacked the first six of the innings, hoisting Axar Patel into the stands in the 11th over. He hit two more before a pull of Mitchell Marsh landed in the hands of skipper David Warner.

He made 25 (12 balls) and helped increase the CSK scoring rate which had been slowed down due to some good bowling.

The second over bowled by Ishant Sharma yielded 16 runs as Gaikwad hit three boundaries In the third over, Conway swished at a delivery from Khaleel and the bowler seemed to think he heard a nick. However, the Capitals didn't review it and later the replays showed a faint edge.

Conway, however, did not make much of the 'life' as he was trapped LBW by Axar Patel for 10.

At the end of the powerplay, CSK were 49 for 1.

Gaikwad was dismissed trying to up the pace, caught in the deep as Axar Patel continued to stymie the Super Kings.

Moeen Ali could not force the pace and was sent back by another spinner-Kuldeep Yadav- caught in an attempt to reach out and play a shot.

There was no six hit by the CSK batters in the first 10 overs as the Capitals bowlers sought to put the squeeze on run-scoring.

Ajinkya Rahane's innings was cut short on 21 when Lalit Yadav took a superb return catch.

Watch: MS Dhoni On Rampage At Chepauk, Sakshi Dhoni And Ziva Rejoice

The talismanic skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni showed his hitting prowess, hammering two big sixes to boost Chennai Super Kings's score to 167 for 8 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals in an Indian Premier League match in Chennai on Wednesday. Dhoni (20, 9 balls, 1x4, 2x6) smacked Khaleel Ahmed for a couple of maximums in the penultimate over to give a push to the score on an evening when run-making wasn't very easy. The Capitals bowlers came to the fore, keeping the Super Kings batters on the leash on a slugging pitch.

MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi Dhoni and daughter were at the stadium. They rejoiced as Dhoni played a vintage knock.

None of the CSK batters could go on and get a substantial score with Shivam Dube (25) being the highest score. There were 20s by Ruturaj Gaikwad (24), Ambati Rayudu (23) and Ajinkya Rahane (21).

IPL 2023: Vintage Suryakumar Yadav Helps MI Beat RCB By 6 Wickets

Suryakumar Yadav's stunning 35-ball 83 and Nehal Wadhera's unbeaten 52 handed Mumbai Indians a comprehensive six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday. A fourth century stand of the season between Faf du Plessis (65 off 41) and Glenn Maxwell (68 off 33) took Royal Challengers Bangalore to 199 for five after Mumbai put them in to bat. Chasing 200, Mumbai Indians maintained their impeccable record of not losing to RCB at the Wankhede Stadium since IPL 2015, racing to victory in 16.3 overs. The victory lifted Mumbai Indians to the third spot in the points table, as the five-time champions now have 12 points from 11 games.

RCB slipped to the seventh spot with 10 points from 11 matches.

Suryakumar struck six sixes and seven fours in his sensational effort while adding 140 runs for the third wicket in only 66 balls with Wadhera. Promoted at No 4, Wadhera, who was dropped on 16 on a tough return chance by Wanindu Hasaranga (2/53), went on to raise his second fifty of the season. The left-handed batter struck four fours and three sixes to make 52 not out off 34 balls.

After their bowlers sparked a comeback of sorts in the first half of the game, Mumbai Indians never looked under any pressure with their reshuffled batting order clicking together, despite Rohit Sharma's ordinary run continuing.

The Mumbai Indians' captain Sharma was dismissed for only seven, but a brisk start provided by Ishan Kishan (42) and a sturdy stand for the third wicket shut RCB out of the game.

RCB were cruising towards a big total at one stage when MI fought back to apply brakes, and the visitors' failure to put on even 200 came back to hurt them.

Hasaranga struck twice inside the fifth over to halt Mumbai's charge, getting Ishan Kishan caught behind after a rapid 21-ball 42 and Rohit Sharma (7), as MI ended powerplay at 62/2.

Kishan hit four sixes and as many fours, contributing heavily in his 51-run opening stand with Sharma, who was dismissed for a fifth consecutive single-digit score.

Suryakumar completed his fourth fifty of the season and third here at the Wankhede, off only 26 balls.

Earlier, RCB were rocked early by Jason Behrendorff (4-0-36-3) who struck twice in the powerplay, before du Plessis (65 off 41) and Maxwell (68 off 33) teamed up to expose MI's bowling troubles once again while making the most of the perfect batting conditions.

Du Plessis and Maxwell added 120 runs for the fourth wicket off just 62 balls, powering RCB's charge after Mumbai Indians made early inroads with Virat Kohli (1) and Anuj Rawat (6) falling early. Maxwell was in his element as he played some outstanding strokes, hitting four sixes and eight fours to record his fourth half-century this season.

On the other hand, du Plessis, dropped by Nehal Wadhera in the first over when he was yet to open his account, was equally impressive with his strokeplay, attacking fast bowlers and spinners alike to get to his sixth half-century.

Du Plessis also extended his lead at the top of the list for the highest run-getters this year, reaching 576 runs in 11 matches at an average of 64.

But to their credit, MI fought back in the second half to dismiss Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror (1) and du Plessis in quick succession, which halted RCB's charge as they could not go beyond the 200-run mark, which at one stage looked probable.

Mumbai Indians' bowlers did well to allow only 68 runs in the last seven overs, putting up a far improved performance with the ball.

RCB slipped from 131/2 after 13 overs to 146/5 in the 15th before Dinesh Karthik (30 off 18 balls) did well to banish his ordinary run with the bat.

1st Time In IPL: Rohit Hits New Low With 5th Straight Single Digit Score

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma had yet another forgettable outing in the IPL 2023 in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. With MI chasing a huge 200-run target against RCB, much was expected from the skipper. However, Rohit was dismissed in the fifth over by Wanindu Hasaranga. Rohit wanted to steer a delivery by Hasarange to leg-side only to be hit on the front pad on the final ball of the over. Though the on-field umpire gave not out, RCB took review and Rohit was out on 7 off eight balls.

This is the first time that Rohit Sharma has been dismissed for five successive single figure scores in the T20 league. His previous worst being four single-digit scores in IPL 2017. Rohit Sharma last five innings: 2(8b), 3(5b), 0(3b), 0(3b), 7(8b).

Talking about the game, A fourth century stand of the season between Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell took Royal Challengers Bangalore to 199 for five against Mumbai Indians in the IPL in Mumbai on Tuesday. After RCB were rocked early by Jason Behrendorff (4-0-36-3) who struck twice in the powerplay, du Plessis (65 off 41) and Maxwell (68 off 33) teamed up to expose MI's bowling troubles once again while making the most of the perfect batting conditions at the Wankhede Stadium.
